welcome to choose cruelty free
Choose Cruelty Free (CCF) is an independent, non-profit organisation based in Australia, which since 1993 has produced the Choose Cruelty Free List (CCF List) for Australian consumers.
We actively campaign for an end to animal testing of ingredients used in cosmetics, toiletries, household cleaning products and animal care.
CCF surveys and accredits companies that sell making cruelty-free claims selling cosmetics, toiletries and household cleaning products to Australian consumers, online and/or retail. Accredited companies join the CCF List online, in the free CCF App and in the printed booklet which is produced twice per year.

All CCF work is performed largely by volunteers who believe in a cruelty-free lifestyle. CCF is designed to:
- Encourage manufacturers and service providers to adopt a cruelty-free ethic.
- Survey companies which claim to sell products that have not been tested on animals and do not contain cruelly-derived ingredients and accredits companies which satisfy CCF’s criteria. Accreditation criteria is probably the most stringent in the world today. The CCF List is a booklet listing companies and brand names that operate under a cruelty-free ethic, providing consumers with information so they can choose products according to their personal ethical standards. See the online version of the CCF List here.
- Make available (by way of a licensing arrangement) an independent, consumer-recognised logo which manufacturers can incorporate in their labelling and advertising material to readily identify their companies as cruelty-free.
- Make people aware of their power, as consumers, to change attitudes about testing products on animals.
The Not Tested on Animals Rabbit Logo is a registered trade mark and may only be used by accredited companies that have taken out a license and paid the annual license fee.
CCF is an Animals Australia Member Society.
